This many include funding and financial support for entrepreneurs and business owners and also grants for senior citizens or individuals seeking disability grants. This may show up in the form of an ad or you may be contacted through social media.

Catalytic converter theft is an ongoing concern across Alberta and a problem the RCMP are proactively looking for ways to combat. New crime prevention initiatives like You Etch It. We Catch It, a program created by Leduc RCMP in collaboration with the City of Leduc, are being developed to educate not only vehicle owners, but also vehicle dealerships and service shops on the benefit of ID etching.
Strathcona County, Alta. - Strathcona County RCMP remind residents that the holiday season is an active time and requires extra vigilance to prevent theft. It is also a time when busy people let their guard down and become more vulnerable to theft. Crime prevention is especially important during the holiday season. Protecting yourself, vehicle and your home from potential crime is the easiest way to ensure a safe and happy holiday season.
Here are some crime prevention tips for the holiday season:
Strathcona County, Alta. – The Strathcona County Citizens on Patrol Society (SCCOPS) hosted the Alberta Citizens on Patrol Association (ACOPA) annual general meeting (AGM) and training sessions on Oct. 28 to Oct. 30, 2022, in Sherwood Park, Alta. The event occurred at the Strathcona County Community Centre, where 21 groups from across Alberta and four provinces met to participate in an entire weekend of speakers, learning and training.
Strathcona County, Alta. – On Saturday, May 14, 2022 the Strathcona County RCMP, as part of National Police Week, will be hosting a kids bicycle rodeo and safety fair at the Strathcona Athletic Park located at 1011 Clover Bar Road in Sherwood Park. Strathcona County, Alta. – The Strathcona County RCMP is pleased to announce the return of School Resource Officer Program to the community starting in October 2021.
There will be five School Resource Officers (SRO) that will be working cooperatively with school administration, staff, students, parents, and the community. The SRO’s will help to proactively identify and address school concerns and to build relationships between communities, schools and the police.
Strathcona County, Alta. – Inspector Dale Kendall has been promoted to the new Superintendent in charge of Strathcona County Detachment starting in early May 2021. Superintendent Gord Stewart, Acting District Commander for Central Alberta District, is pleased to make this announcement and welcome Superintendent Dale Kendall.

Fraudsters are coming up with new, more elaborate ways to scam you for your hard-earned money almost daily. One of newest ways being used to scam unsuspecting individuals is through intercepted e-Transfers.
Sherwood Park, Alta. – As the new school year starts, the Strathcona County RCMP, along with our enforcement partners will be involved in educating the public on back to school safety. For children this is an exciting time of year and they may forget basic road safety rules as they walk, bicycle or ride the bus to school. Motorists are urged to use caution when driving through residential areas and to adhere to speed limits in school and playground zones.
