Strathcona County, Alberta – On July 1, 2018 at approximately 12:09 a.m. Strathcona County RCMP and Strathcona County Emergency Services responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on Highway 216 in Sherwood Park, Alberta.
The vehicle was travelling west on Highway 16 and lost control while on the Highway 216 southbound ramp.
The 46-year-old male driver of the vehicle was fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
The name of the deceased is not being released.
Strathcona County RCMP Traffic Services and RCMP Collision Analyst were on scene for several hours investigating the collision. The contributing factors to this collision remain under investigation.
