Strathcona County RCMP Arrest Two Impaired Truck Drivers

Sherwood Park, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP have arrested two semi truck drivers for impaired driving in the past few weeks.

On Oct. 9, 2019 at approximately 6:29 a.m. Strathcona County RCMP responded to a single vehicle collision involving a semi tractor and trailer near Range Road 232 and Township Road 533 in Sherwood Park. No one was injured as a result of the collision. The 28-year-old male driver from Winnipeg was arrested for impaired driving.

On Oct. 12, 2019 at approximately 9:01 p.m. Strathcona County RCMP completed a traffic stop with a semi truck, fully loaded with lumber on Baseline Road near Crimson Drive in Sherwood Park. The 43-year-old male driver from Edmonton was arrested for impaired driving.

Despite warnings, people unfortunately still choose to drink or do drugs and get behind the wheel. If you suspect a driver is impaired call 911 if it is safe to do so. Provide the vehicle description, license plate and location if possible.
