Strathcona County RCMP Seeking Public Assistance in Locating Missing Youth

Strathcona County, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in locating 13-year-old Bella Morisseau Whiskeyjack. Bella was last seen at her residence in Sherwood Park, Alta. on Sept. 21, 2023 at 10 p.m. RCMP are concerned for her well-being and would like to speak with her.

Strathcona County RCMP Arrest Male for Break and Enter

Strathcona County, Alta.  – On Sept. 18, 2023, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP received a report of a possible break and enter at a residence in Clarkdale Meadows area of Sherwood Park, Alta. The complainant provided a description to police of a male suspect he believed was breaking into a neighbour’s residence. RCMP responded and located a male matching the same description exiting the garage with several items. The male suspect fled on foot but was subsequently arrested a short time later.

Strathcona County RCMP Arrest Male Attempting to Purchase Vehicle With Forged Documents

Strathcona County, Alta. –  On Sept. 8. 2023, Strathcona County RCMP received a report of a male attempting to purchase a 2022 BMW X6M fraudulently, valued at $130,000, from a local dealership. The male was located with forged document and provided police with a false name. An investigation was launched and the male was arrested without incident.

Strathcona County RCMP Investigates Several Thefts From Motor Vehicle Complaints

Sherwood Park, Alta. – The Strathcona County RCMP is investigating numerous thefts from motor vehicle occurrences in the Regency Park area of Sherwood Park, Alta.

On Sept. 4, 2023, two unknown male suspects entered several unlocked vehicles between 6:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. Additionally, on Sept. 5, 2023, the same two suspects returned and targeted more vehicles at around 2:00 a.m.

To prevent any further thefts from motor vehicles, the RCMP are reminding the public of the following vehicle safety tips:

Strathcona County RCMP Arrest Female Following a Traffic Stop

Strathcona County, Alta. – On July 29, 2023, at approximately 2:42 a.m., Strathcona County RCMP were conducting speed enforcement on Highway 216 near Baseline Road in Sherwood Park, Alta.

A vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed and determined the vehicle was travelling over 182 km/h in a 100 km/h speed zone. A traffic stop was conducted and in addition the female driver was believed to be impaired and transported back to the detachment to provide breath samples.

Strathcona County RCMP Seek Public Assistance in Locating Arson Suspect - Update

Strathcona County, Alta. – On July 24, 2023, Strathcona County RCMP arrested a male wanted in relation to an arson investigation.

Robert Martin (45), a current resident of Vernon, B.C., was arrested and charged with:

  • Arson, disregard for human life
  • Assault cause bodily harm
  • Disobeying a court order

Robert Martin was released from custody following a Judicial Interim Release hearing and is scheduled to appear in Sherwood Park Provincial Court on August 16, 2023.

Strathcona County RCMP Seeks Public Assistance in Road Rage Incident

Sherwood Park, Alta. – On July 20, 2023 at approximately 5:02 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP received a report of a road rage that involved a serious assault. One of the males required medical attention as a result of the injuries sustained during the incident.

Police determined that two trucks were travelling eastbound on Wye Road when they both stopped near Ordze Road in Sherwood Park, Alta. An altercation took place between the two male drivers where one male sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital.

Strathcona County RCMP Warn Residents of Charity Scam

Sherwood Park, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP have been advised of a current scam that has been taking place inside businesses, particularly grocery stores in Sherwood Park. Individuals are approaching customers and showing them a piece of paper indicating they are hearing impaired and asking for donations. The individuals are not able to provide any organization or charity documentation.

Strathcona County RCMP Crime Reduction Unit Locate Firearms and Drugs During Traffic Stop

Sherwood Park, Alta. – On June 29, 2023, Strathcona County RCMP Crime Reduction Unit conducted a traffic enforcement stop on Highway 216 and Baseline Road in Sherwood Park. Members were unable to confirm the identity of the driver and as a result the male was detained to continue the investigation. Police located what appeared to be cocaine and the male was arrested and searched.

Subsequently the vehicle was searched and police located and seized two handguns, ammunition, over 77 grams of what is believed to be cocaine and Canadian currency.
