Strathcona County, Alta. - Strathcona County RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in gathering information on the following crime:
On Dec. 8, 2019, at approximately 5:07 p.m. RCMP responded to a theft complaint at the Shopper’s Drug Mart on Baseline Road in Sherwood Park. Two female suspects entered the store and while one served as a distraction and lookout the second female stole over a thousand dollars’ worth of merchandise. Items taken included several bottles of perfume, cologne and a portable speaker.

Sherwood Park, Alta. – On Dec. 4, 2019, Strathcona County RCMP responded after a keen eyed citizen called police to report that grain was being removed from a neighbours’ property and did not believe it was authorized. Police attended the rural location near Josephburg, Alta. and determined that a grain company had made arrangements to buy the grain.
Strathcona County, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP are looking for public assistance in locating a “wanted” man who is believed to be responsible for robbing a gas station and assaulting the store cashier at approximately 5:15 a.m. on Nov. 17, 2019.
A masked suspect entered a gas station on Highway 16 in Strathcona County and demanded that the cashier open the gas pumps and hand over money and cigarettes. During the interaction the suspect assaulted the cashier and fled in a vehicle. The cashier went to the hospital with minor injuries.
Sherwood Park, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) have arrested a male youth in connection to an armed robbery that occurred in July.
On July 29, 2019 RCMP responded to an armed robbery in the parking lot of the Sherwood Park Mall. The victim reported a male suspect produced what appeared to be a knife and demanded the victim’s belongings. The suspect then took off in a vehicle with the victim’s items and police were called immediately. No injuries were reported.

Protecting yourself, vehicle and your home from potential crime is the easiest way to ensure a safe and happy holiday season.
Sherwood Park, Alta. – Living in a condominium means sharing space, including building’s entrances, hallways, social areas and parking lots. While these common areas can be useful they can also create security issues, as residents don’t always know who belongs in the building.
It is important that residents are aware of who they are letting into the building. Don’t be afraid to let someone know they will have to contact the person their visiting to gain access to the building.

Last month a local resident received a call from a male claiming to be an employee of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). The male reported that someone opened an account using the victim’s Social Insurance Number (SIN) and had racked up a large debt on her credit.
Lloydminster, Alta. - Police have arrested a male in connection to a poppy donation box left that occurred in the early hours of Nov. 4, 2019.
On Nov. 4, 2019 at approximately 7:39 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP responded to a theft complaint at a local business on Emerald Drive in Sherwood Park. Investigation revealed two patrons witnessed a male steal a poppy donation box from the counter and leave.
