Strathcona County RCMP Seek Public Assistance

Sherwood Park, Alta. - On Nov. 1, 2019 at approximately 9:15 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP responded to a report of a disturbance on Spruce Avenue in Sherwood Park. Witnesses observed a young girl yelling for help and then getting into a vehicle.

The suspect vehicle is described as older, beat-up, grey, GMC SUV, which fled the area. 

Police are looking to identify the occupants of the vehicle to ensure their safety and well-being.

Strathcona County RCMP Warn Residents of Vehicle Thefts

Sherwood Park, Atla. - Strathcona County RCMP remind residents not to leave their vehicles running while unattended. In the past week police have responded to two vehicles thefts as a result of leaving vehicles running while unoccupied.

On Oct. 29, 2019, at approximately 5:50 a.m. a running vehicle was stolen from a Tim Horton’s parking lot while the victim was inside. The vehicle has since been recovered.

On Oct. 30, 2019, at approximately 6:00 a.m. a running vehicle was stolen from a victim’s driveway. The vehicle is still outstanding.

Strathcona County RCMP Arrest Two Impaired Truck Drivers

Sherwood Park, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP have arrested two semi truck drivers for impaired driving in the past few weeks.

On Oct. 9, 2019 at approximately 6:29 a.m. Strathcona County RCMP responded to a single vehicle collision involving a semi tractor and trailer near Range Road 232 and Township Road 533 in Sherwood Park. No one was injured as a result of the collision. The 28-year-old male driver from Winnipeg was arrested for impaired driving.

Strathcona County RCMP Seek Public Assistance With Ongoing Investigation

Strathcona County, Alta. – RCMP are seeking information from the public to assist in an ongoing investigation.

RCMP are looking to speak with a good Samaritan who picked up an adult female in a rural location east of Highway 21 and gave them a ride to the Edmonton Police Service Southeast Division at her request. This occurred on October 3, 2019 at approximately 3:00 p.m.

Due to the ongoing investigation no further details will be provided at this time.

Strathcona County RCMP Recover Stolen Bicycle During Search Warrant

Sherwood Park, Alta. – On Sept. 14, 2019 at approximately 12:00 p.m. Strathcona County RCMP responded to a theft of bicycle from the front porch of a residence in the Summerwood area of Sherwood Park.

On Sept. 25, 2019 the victim believed she located the stolen bicycle advertised for sale on the buy and sell site LetGo. Police were able to determine the stolen bicycle was being stored at a residence in the southeast area of Edmonton.

Strathcona County RCMP Arrest Male for Robbery

Sherwood Park, Alta. – On Sept. 20, 2019, at approximately 6:40 p.m. Strathcona County RCMP responded to an robbery outside the Sherwood Park Mall.

A suspect approached a male walking outside the mall and requested to use his phone. The male allowed the suspect to use the phone but then refused to return it. A confrontation occurred and the suspect took a machete out of his back pack. The male immediately ran into the nearest store and called police.

Strathcona County RCMP Warn Public of Facebook Messenger Scam

Sherwood Park, Atla. -  Strathcona County RCMP warns the public of a Facebook messenger scam that is targeting seniors.

The scam, which begins with a message that appears to come from a friend's Facebook messenger account, advises of a Federal Government grant for seniors. If you respond, you will then be asked to send your full name, home address, age and other personal information and to provide a fee of $1500 or more to access a grant between $100,000 and $200,000.

Strathcona County RCMP Investigate Pedestrian Hit and Run

Sherwood Park, Alta – On Aug. 22, 2019 at approximately 1:31 a.m. Strathcona County RCMP responded to a pedestrian hit and run near Sherwood Drive and Lakeland Drive. A short time later police were notified of a single vehicle collision at the intersection of Baseline Road and Crimson Drive. The female driver was located and police determined the vehicle to be the same one involved in the pedestrian hit and run.

The investigation revealed the vehicle had been stolen from a residence on Ashmore Way in Sherwood Park prior to the hit and run.
