Strathcona County RCMP Arrest Male for Child Pornography Offences

Sherwood Park, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) with the Assistance of the Northern Alberta Internet Child Exploitation Unit (NAICE) have arrested a Sherwood Park man for child pornography offences.

The investigation began in mid August when the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children received a report identifying a Canadian Yahoo account used to distribute child pornography.

On Aug. 17, 2021, Strathcona County RCMP members and NAICE investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in Sherwood Pak, Alta.

Carmine Draper (43) of Sherwood Park, Alta. is facing numerous charges relating to the distribution of child pornography and sexual offences including:

  • Sexual interference
  • Sexual assault
  • Possession of child pornography
  • Transmission of child pornography
  • Making child pornography

Draper was released on conditions following a Judicial Interim Hearing and is scheduled to appear in Sherwood Park Provincial Park on Sept. 15, 2021

These matters are before the courts, no further details will be provided.
