Strathcona County RCMP Investigation Unit Arrests Male for Two Robberies

Strathcona County, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP have arrested a 38-year-old male in connection to two recent bank robberies in Sherwood Park, Alta.

On March 10, 2021 at 10:23 a.m., RCMP responded to a robbery at the Scotiabank located on Baseline Road where a male demanded money and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

On March 16, 2021 at 12:27 p.m., RCMP responded to a second robbery at the Scotiabank on Baseline Road where a male demanded money and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was physically injured during the two robberies.

As a result of the investigation and evidence collected the Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) was able to quickly link the two robberies to one suspect. With the assistance of the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Robbery Section police identified a suspect and he was arrested at his residence in Edmonton, Alta on March 16, 2021.

 

Darcey Daniel Boulianne (38) of Edmonton, Alta. has been charged with;

  • Robbery (x2)
  • Disguised with intent (x2)

 

Boulianne was remanded into custody following an Interim Judicial Hearing and is scheduled to appear in Sherwood Park Provincial Court on March 24, 2021.

 

“As a result of collaboration with our policing partners we were able to identify and arrest a suspect,” says S/Sgt Andrew Kyle of the RCMP General Investigation Section. “Intelligence sharing between agencies and across jurisdictions is crucial to our success in solving crime.”
