Strathcona County RCMP Arrest Male for Break and Enter at Local Jewellery Store

Strathcona County, Alta. –On Nov. 30, 2022, at approximately 2:47 a.m., Strathcona County RCMP responded to a commercial alarm at Kings Fine Jewellery on Sherwood Drive in Sherwood Park, Alta. Upon arrival members observed a male suspect attempting to pry open the back door of the store and when approached he fled on foot.

The male suspect was apprehended by police a short time later and arrested for break and enter. Extensive damage was caused to the back door of the store but no items were taken.

Strathcona County RCMP On-Scene of Two Vehicle Collision

Strathcona County, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP are currently on scene of a two-vehicle collision eastbound on Highway 16 just east of Range Road 215 in Strathcona County, Alta. Traffic is being redirected south on Range Road 215. Police anticipate remaining on scene for some time while officers investigate the collision.

Strathcona County RCMP On-Scene of Multi-Vehicle Collision

Strathcona County, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP are currently on scene of a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 14 east of Range Road 205 in Strathcona County, Alta. Traffic is being redirected around the collision scene.

Police anticipate remaining on scene for some time while officers investigate the collision.

Alberta Citizens on Patrol Annual General Meeting Hosted in Strathcona County

Strathcona County, Alta. – The Strathcona County Citizens on Patrol Society (SCCOPS) hosted the Alberta Citizens on Patrol Association (ACOPA) annual general meeting (AGM) and training sessions on Oct. 28 to Oct. 30, 2022, in Sherwood Park, Alta. The event occurred at the Strathcona County Community Centre, where 21 groups from across Alberta and four provinces met to participate in an entire weekend of speakers, learning and training.

Strathcona County RCMP Warn Public of Timeshare Scam

Strathcona County, Alta. - Strathcona County RCMP are currently investigating a scam involving the sale of a timeshare and want to warn others about this elaborate scheme.

Many timeshare scams involve a person who will pose as a reseller or real estate agent who will claim they are interested or have a buyer for the timeshare. They will go to great lengths to appear legitimate and credible. They will use names, addresses and phone numbers of reputable business, create elaborate websites and official looking documents.

Strathcona County RCMP Municipal Drug Unit Make Arrests for Drug Trafficking

Strathcona County, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP Municipal Drug Unit (SCMDU) conducted an investigation into drug trafficking activities in Sherwood Park and Edmonton, Alta., over the past several months. As a result of the investigation, evidence was obtained that led to the arrest of five individuals and they are expected to face numerous charges including: trafficking a controlled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance, and possession of proceeds of crime.

Strathcona County RCMP Arrest Male Youth for Firearm Offences

Strathcona County, Alta - On October 20, 2022 at 3:15 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP received a 911 call of a male pointing what was believed to be a gun at motorists at the intersection of Main Street and Sherwood Drive in Sherwood Park, Alta.

Police arrived on scene and located the male matching the description provided by the complainant. The male was arrested without further incident and the alleged firearm was located. Police have determined that the gun was not real and was an imitation firearm.
