I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the Strathcona County Citizens on Patrol team for their amazing contribution to the Night to Shine Event, held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Bethel Lutheran Church. This event focused on bringing the Sherwood Park Community together to celebrate people with special needs. There were close to 300 people on site for this evening.

Members of Strathcona County Citizens on Patrol (SCCOPS) attended the Celebration of Lights in Sherwood Park to operate the Lost Child booth, handing out wristbands and patrolling the grounds. Out on a rural patrol, members observed this Mom & Pop teaching their youngsters how to safely cross the road.

Strathcona Citizens on Patrol were out this weekend (7th June 2025) assisting our fellow Devon Citizens on Patrol with the 75th Devon Days parade.
Members were assigned to intersections along the parade route to clear traffic from the road prior to the parade and help ensure the event was safe and enjoyable for all.
After the parade our members had a lunch and de-brief with the Devon COPs at Marci's grill, great food, if you're in the Devon area check them out.
Strathcona County RCMP investigate bomb hoax at local high school - update
Sherwood Park, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP have successfully identified the individual responsible for the bomb threat at Bev Facey on June 17, 2024.
Following a thorough investigation, it was determined that a 17-year-old male from Michigan, USA, was behind the threat. It was confirmed that the male had no connections to the school or community, making the incident appear to be random.

Strathcona County RCMP on scene of serious motor vehicle collision - Update
Strathcona County, Alta. – On June 20, 2024, at 11:08 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP were dispatched to a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian. The vehicle was travelling eastbound on Wye Road near the intersection of Range Road 221 when the collision occurred.
Officers and Emergency Services arrived on scene, and the pedestrian, a 31-year-old male resident of Sherwood Park, Alta., was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Strathcona County, Alta. - Media are invited to attend the Strathcona County RCMP detachment for media availability. RCMP will be providing details on an investigation that led to a significant seizure by the Strathcona County Drug Unit.
Following the presentation media will be have an opportunity to view various items which were seized.

Strathcona County RCMP Drug Unit make significant drug seizure
Strathcona County, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP Drug Section has successfully disrupted drug trafficking operations in the area. During a lengthy investigation spanning from November 2023 to May 2024, the unit obtained twenty-four judicial authorizations and executed two residential search warrants and two vehicle search warrants in Edmonton. Two individuals involved in drug trafficking in Strathcona County and the greater capital region, were arrested in this operation.
