Strathcona County RCMP Investigate Attempted Theft of ATM Machine

Strathcona County, Alberta – On December 8, 2017 at approximately 4:38 a.m. Strathcona County RCMP responded to report of a break and enter at the Esso located on Highway 16 in Ardrossan, Alberta.

Investigation revealed three suspects forced their way into the Esso and wrapped a chain around an ATM machine. The chain was attached to a truck with a flat deck and the suspects attempted to drive away with the ATM machine. Several attempts were made but were unsuccessful when the chain broke.

The white Chevrolet Silverado used in the incident was located south of Highway 16 on Range Road 223. Police have determined the truck has been stolen from Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta hours prior.
