Strathcona County RCMP Execute Search Warrant

Strathcona, Alberta – Strathcona County RCMP began investigating a stolen property complaint on December 19, 2017 and as a result a search warrant was executed at a residence located in the Glen Allan area of Sherwood Park, Alberta.

During the search several items were seized including a Kona Mountain Bike, 2010 Yamaha dirt bike and numerous surveying and radio detection tools. Police also seized what is suspected to be 5.4 grams of methamphetamine.  Approximate value of the stolen items is $200,000.

Police determined that the surveying and radio detection tools were stolen out of Edmonton on December 5, 2017.

Steven Todd FREDERICK, age 31 of Sherwood Park has been charged with:

  • One count of possession of stolen property over $5000.
  • Two counts of theft under $5000.
  • Two counts of possession of stolen property under $5000.
  • One count of possession of a controlled substance.

FREDERICK was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in Sherwood Park Provincial Court on Wednesday January 31, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. 

Kyryl Adrian NIEMI, age 27 of Beaumont has been charged with possession of a controlled substance. NIEMI was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Sherwood Park Provincial Court on Wednesday January 31, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. 

RCMP continue their investigation to determine if further charges are warranted in this matter.
