Strathcona County RCMP Make Armed Robbery Arrest

Sherwood Park, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) have arrested a male youth in connection to an armed robbery that occurred in July.

On July 29, 2019 RCMP responded to an armed robbery in the parking lot of the Sherwood Park Mall. The victim reported a male suspect produced what appeared to be a knife and demanded the victim’s belongings. The suspect then took off in a vehicle with the victim’s items and police were called immediately. No injuries were reported.

On Dec. 13, 2019 Strathcona County RCMP GIS arrested a 16-year-old male youth in relation to the armed robbery. The youth was released on a Recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Sherwood Park Provincial Court on Jan. 15, 2020.
