Strathcona County RCMP Arrest Female Following a Robbery

Strathcona County, Alta. - On Feb. 27 at 4:27 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP received a 911 call of a robbery that occurred in the parking lot of a grocery store on Baseline Road in Sherwood Park, Alta. Police attended and was advised by the victim that they met a female to sell an item from a buy a sell site when the victim was sprayed with bear mace and had the item stolen. The female suspect then fled on foot to a nearby residential area.

Police were able to identify the suspect and with the assistance of the Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) and the RCMP Police Dog Unit the suspect was arrested at a nearby residence.

Tonya Scott-Loga (38) a resident of Sherwood Park, Alta. was arrested and charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of stolen property

Tonya Scott-Loga was remanded into custody following a Judicial Interim Release hearing and is scheduled to appear in Sherwood Park Provincial Court on Mar. 8, 2023.

A reminder for residents that Strathcona County RCMP does have two dedicated parking stalls at the detachment for safe exchange. Police are urging people to use the designated parking spots to meet strangers when completing internet transactions, such as purchases from online sites like Facebook buy and sell or Kijiji.
