Strathcona County RCMP Recover Stolen Bicycle During Search Warrant

Sherwood Park, Alta. – On Sept. 14, 2019 at approximately 12:00 p.m. Strathcona County RCMP responded to a theft of bicycle from the front porch of a residence in the Summerwood area of Sherwood Park.

On Sept. 25, 2019 the victim believed she located the stolen bicycle advertised for sale on the buy and sell site LetGo. Police were able to determine the stolen bicycle was being stored at a residence in the southeast area of Edmonton.

As a result of the investigation a search warrant was executed at the residence with the assistance of the Strathcona County RCMP Property Crime Unit and Edmonton Police Service Tactical Section. During the search warrant several items were seized including the stolen bicycle, over 22 grams of suspected methamphetamine and an imitation handgun.

Robert Belcourt Silewo (34) of Edmonton has been charged with:

-Possession of stolen property under $5000

-Possession of an illegal substance

Robert also had outstanding warrants out of Edmonton.  

Robert was released on a recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Sherwood Park Provincial Court on Oct. 9, 2019.

Police remind residents to lock up items or store them in a locked shed or garage. Ensure you take a photograph of your valuables and write down the serial numbers if possible.
