Strathcona County RCMP Arrest Two Suspects for Forcible Confinement

Sherwood Park, Alta. – On March 5, 2020 at approximately 7:15 a.m. Strathcona County RCMP responded to a call for a male who had been assaulted and confined in a hotel room against his will.

As a result of the investigation police located the victim at a local hotel and two suspects were arrested on scene. The victim was transported to hospital and treated for non-life- threatening injuries. Police believe that this was a targeted incident and the general public is not at risk.

Jabari Azizi Broodhagen (32) of Edmonton, Alta. and Kalea Nalani Clarke (19) of Campbell River, B.C have been charged with:

-Forcible confinement

-Aggravated assault

-Extortion

Jabari Broodhagen has been remanded into custody after a judicial hearing and Kalea Nalani was released with conditions. Both are scheduled to appear in Sherwood Park Provincial Court on March 18, 2020.
