Strathcona County, Alta. – On May 5, 2022 a local taxi driver called 911 to report a verbal altercation due to a payment dispute with three passengers during drop off at a residence. During the confrontation, one of the passengers displayed what is believed to be a handgun and pointed it at the driver.
RCMP located two of the suspects and were able to identify the third suspect believed to be in possession of a firearm.
Police located and charged a male youth for pointing a firearm.
The male youth was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in Sherwood Park Provincial Court on June 14, 2022.
Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the youth cannot be named.
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
