Strathcona County RCMP seek assistance from the public

Strathcona County, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a young boy, approximately 10 years old, who reported finding human remains in Rundell Park and Strathcona Science Park on June 7, 2024.

At around 6:20 p.m., the boy, wearing a blue t-shirt and riding a mountain bike, approached two female cyclists in Rundell Park to report his discovery. Despite his initial report, the boy declined to show the cyclists the location of the remains and rode away. Shortly after, he approached passers-by in Strathcona Science Park with the same information but again refused to provide further details.

A coordinated search effort involving Strathcona RCMP, Strathcona Fire and Rescue, Edmonton Police Service, Edmonton Fire and Rescue, and EPS Air-1 was conducted in the area, but the remains were not located.

Strathcona County RCMP are urging anyone who may know the identity of the boy to come forward to assist in verifying his report. This information is crucial for the ongoing investigation.
