Strathcona County RCMP Arrest Female Following a Robbery

Strathcona County, Alta. - On Feb. 27 at 4:27 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP received a 911 call of a robbery that occurred in the parking lot of a grocery store on Baseline Road in Sherwood Park, Alta. Police attended and was advised by the victim that they met a female to sell an item from a buy a sell site when the victim was sprayed with bear mace and had the item stolen. The female suspect then fled on foot to a nearby residential area.

Strathcona County RCMP Warn Residents of Loan and Grant Scams

Strathcona County, Alta. – The Strathcona County RCMP want to warn residents of scams involving grants and loans. This many include funding and financial support for entrepreneurs and business owners and also grants for senior citizens or individuals seeking disability grants. This may show up in the form of an ad or you may be contacted through social media.

Strathcona County RCMP Crime Reduction Unit Arrest Male for Drug Trafficking

Strathcona County, Alta. – On Jan. 20, 2023, Strathcona County RCMP Crime Reduction Unit arrested a male following a traffic stop on Highway 16 in Sherwood Park, Alta. The male was stopped for a traffic offence and as a result the vehicle was towed.

During the search of the vehicle police located 60 rounds of ammunition and what is believed to be 288.18 grams of methamphetamine 8.18 grams of cocaine, 8.16 grams of crack cocaine and Canadian currency.

Strathcona County RCMP and Enforcement Services Seize Eleven Dogs from Residence

Strathcona County, Alta. – On Jan. 28, 2023, Strathcona County Enforcement Services and Strathcona County RCMP responded to a report of an animal in distress at a residence in Sherwood Park, Alta. Members attended the residence and located eleven dogs that appeared to be malnourished and neglected. All eleven dogs were seized and transported to the Edmonton Humane Society by Strathcona County Enforcement Services.

Addressing Catalytic Converter Theft in Alberta

Catalytic converter theft is an ongoing concern across Alberta and a problem the RCMP are proactively looking for ways to combat. New crime prevention initiatives like You Etch It. We Catch It, a program created by Leduc RCMP in collaboration with the City of Leduc, are being developed to educate not only vehicle owners, but also vehicle dealerships and service shops on the benefit of ID etching.

Strathcona County RCMP Arrest Male in Relation to Residential Fire

Strathcona County, Alta. – On Nov. 13, 2022, at 2:02 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP responded with Strathcona County Emergency Services (SCES) to a residential structure fire near Antler Lake, Alta. The fire was deemed suspicious and an investigation was conducted by the Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Section along with the assistance of the SCES fire investigator. No one was injured as a result of the fire.

On Nov 15, 2022, members of the Strathcona County General Investigation Section arrested a male in relation to the residential arson.

Strathcona County RCMP Arrest Male for Breaching Conditions

Strathcona County, Alta. – On Dec. 7, 2022, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP responded to a suspicious male complaint at Millennium Place in Sherwood Park, Alta. Police attended the location and located the male who provided a false name and was subsequently arrested for Obstruction. Further investigation revealed that the male had arrest warrants for indecent acts in Edmonton and Calgary, Alta. The male was also on conditions to not attend any public pools in Alberta.
