Strathcona County RCMP Crime Reduction Unit Requests Assistance in Firearms Complaint

Strathcona County, Alta. – The Strathcona County RCMP Crime Reduction Unit is looking for the public’s assistance in identifying a male involved in a firearms complaint.

On May 14, 2022 at 9:17 p.m., the Strathcona County RCMP responded to a 911 complaint involving a firearm. The victim reported she was at an area known as “the end of the world” located north of Highway 16 on Township Road 540 in Sherwood Park, Alta.

Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Section Investigate Sudden Death - Update

Strathcona County, Alta. – On March 29, 2022 the Strathcona County RCMP attended a vehicle fire where the remains of a 38-year-old male were located inside.

Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) assisted in the investigation along with the RCMP Forensic Identification Section.

As a result of the investigation completed and the autopsy that was conducted on April 1, 2022, the circumstances of the death have been deemed non criminal in nature.

 

Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Section Investigate Sudden Death

Strathcona County, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) is currently investigating the sudden death of a male located following a vehicle fire.

On March 29, 2022 at 1:17 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP responded to a 911 call of vehicle fire on Range Road 224 just south of Wye Road in Sherwood Park, Alta. RCMP and Strathcona County Emergency Services attended and observed a vehicle fully engulfed in flames. Upon extinguishing the fire, police located human remains inside the vehicle.

Strathcona County RCMP Arrests One Male for Robbery and Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

Strathcona County, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP have arrested a male in relation to a robbery at a local gas station.

On March 4, 2022 at 11:24 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP received a 911 call of a robbery at the Brentwood Esso gas station in Sherwood Park, Alta. A male suspect entered the store and advised the clerk he had a gas bomb in a plastic bag. The male left with several cigarette cartons, an undisclosed amount of cash and a bottle of Dr. Pepper. The lone employee was not injured during the incident.

Strathcona County RCMP Seek Public’s Assistance for Missing Person

***UPDATE*** Ms Vane has been located by RCMP, she is safe.

 

Strathcona County, Alta. – The Strathcona County RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in locating 14-year-old Dylan Vane. Dylan was last seen on Mar. 6, 2022 at her residence in Sherwood Park, Alta.

The Strathcona County RCMP’s efforts to locate her have been unsuccessful and police are concerned for her wellbeing.

Strathcona County RCMP Property Crime Unit Arrest Male on House Arrest

Strathcona County, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP Crime Reduction Unit arrests a male on numerous conditions including 24 hour house arrest.

On Feb. 22, 2022 at 3:35 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP Crime Reduction Unit initiated a traffic stop after observing a traffic violation. The male driver failed to stop and continued to a nearby gas station. 

Strathcona County RCMP Property Crime Unit Arrest Male for Fraud Offences

Strathcona County, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP have arrested a male who attempted to purchase a vehicle with fraudulent identification.

On Jan. 31, 2022, a male used a fraudulent name when submitting an online request to a vehicle dealership in Sherwood Park, Alta. During the financial application by the suspect it was determined the application appeared to be fraudulent. Strathcona County RCMP Property Crime Unit were contacted and took carriage of the investigation.
