Sherwood Park, Alta. – On March 31, 2020, at approximately 6:40 a.m. Strathcona County RCMP responded to a collision involving a truck and Strathcona County Transit bus at the intersection of Fir Street and Sherwood Drive.
Strathcona County, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP are warning residents of scams using the COVID-19 outbreak as a cover. Scam associated with the global pandemic have been cropping up, feeding on people’s fear, uncertainty and misinformation during this difficult time.
Sherwood Park, Alta. – On March 5, 2020 at approximately 7:15 a.m. Strathcona County RCMP responded to a call for a male who had been assaulted and confined in a hotel room against his will.
As a result of the investigation police located the victim at a local hotel and two suspects were arrested on scene. The victim was transported to hospital and treated for non-life- threatening injuries. Police believe that this was a targeted incident and the general public is not at risk.
Strathcona County, Alta. – On March 12, 2020 at approximately 12:30 p.m. Strathcona County RCMP responded to a fatal collision involving a semi-tractor and pickup truck at the intersection of Highway 15 and Highway 830.
Preliminary investigation revealed the semi-tractor was travelling eastbound on Highway 15 when it failed to stop at a red light, colliding with a pickup truck travelling southbound on Highway 830.
Strathcona County, Alta. – RCMP are still on scene at the intersection of Highway 15 and Highway 830. Highway 15, eastbound lane is now open for traffic.

Strathcona County, Alta. – The RCMP have cleared Highway 21 and traffic is now open in both directions. The public is thanked for their patience.
Strathcona County, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP advise they are currently on scene of a single vehicle collision on Highway 21 near Township Road 511.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area while the investigation is ongoing and the scene is cleared.

Strathcona County, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP advise they are currently on scene of a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 15 and Highway 830 (Range Road 214).
Motorists are asked to avoid the area while the investigation is ongoing. Traffic is expected to be diverted for an known period of time while the investigation takes place and the scene is cleared.

Sherwood Park, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP began investigating a fraud complaint on Feb. 19, 2020, when the victim reported losing money to an elaborate bank scam.
Sherwood Park, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP Municipal Drug Unit began investigating a drug complaint at the beginning of July, 2019. As a result, on Feb. 27, 2020 a search warrant was executed at a local business located in the southwest area of Sherwood Park, Alta.
During the search over 700 synthetic cannabinoids were seized from the location with a street value of over $8000. Synthetic cannabinoids are a Schedule II substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
