Strathcona County RCMP Respond to Grass Fire on Range Road 233

Strathcona County, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP are currently on scene with fire personnel at a grass fire south of Range Road 233 (Sherwood Drive) in Sherwood Park.

No residences are in the area of the grass fire. Traffic is being re-routed between Township Road 522 and Township Road 520 in Sherwood Park.  The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

An update will be provided when available.

Strathcona County RCMP Seek Public Assistance

Strathcona County, Alta. – On April 12, 2019 at approximately 8:37 p.m. Strathcona County RCMP responded to a report of a disturbance on Aspen Trail in Sherwood Park. Witnesses observed a female passenger in a vehicle yelling for help while it was driving erratically down the road.  

The suspect vehicle is described as a red van, possibly a Dodge Caravan and was last seen heading west on Aspen Trail from Cloverbar Road.

Police are looking to identify the occupants of the vehicle to ensure their safety and well-being.

FRAUD PREVENTION TIPS

Strathcona County RCMP Team Up for Halloween

Strathcona County, Alberta – The Strathcona County RCMP and Strathcona County Enforcement Services are again teaming up with community partners this Halloween to ensure all trick-or-treaters enjoy a safe and fun evening.

Joining the team this year will be the Strathcona County Citizens on Patrol, Strathcona County Transit, Strathcona County Emergency Services and Sherwood Park Crusaders Hockey Club.

Strathcona County RCMP and Citizens On Patrol team up –Lock It or Lose It

Strathcona County, Alberta – On Tuesday October 3, 2018 Strathcona County RCMP and Strathcona County Citizens On Patrol (COP) volunteers did crime prevention inspections on 374 vehicles parked at Millennium Place, as part of the Lock it or Lose it public education campaign. Volunteers did not try doors or touch vehicles, other than to leave a report card at the vehicle, flagging temptations that might encourage a thief to break into the vehicle or try to steal it.

Strathcona County RCMP Investigate Sexual Assault

Strathcona County, Alberta – Strathcona County RCMP are requesting the public's assistance in gathering information on the following crime:

On Tuesday September 11, 2018 at approximately 12:30 p.m. a female youth was walking on Brentwood Blvd near Raven Drive when she was approached by an unknown male. The male attempted to engage in a conversation with the female and while doing so grabbed her hand. The male then hugged and kissed the female and walked away.

 

Strathcona County RCMP Advise of Traffic Disruption on Highway 16

Strathcona County, Alberta – Strathcona County RCMP are currently on Highway 16 due to a semi-trailer’s load colliding with a CN rail bridge. The westbound lane on Highway 16 near Highway 21 has been reduced to one lane of traffic.

Traffic is expected to be disrupted for several hours and RCMP are asking motorists to choose alternate routes if possible.

Strathcona County RCMP Seeking Witnesses to Fatal Collision

Strathcona County, Alberta -   Strathcona County RCMP are continuing to investigate the collision which followed an attempted traffic stop on Tuesday, August 14, 2018.  In an effort to further the investigation, the RCMP are encouraging any drivers who have dash camera footage or anyone who witnessed the single vehicle rollover on the Sherwood Park Freeway which occurred at approximately 3:00 p.m. to contact the RCMP.
