Strathcona County RCMP and Emergency Services Responded to Sudden Death

Sherwood Park, Alta. - On Nov. 23, 2021, at 2:49 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP responded to a 911 call from Emergency Services to assist with an unconscious male in the area of Sherwood Drive and the 2000 block in Sherwood Park, Alta.

Strathcona County RCMP immediately attended the scene. The 29-year-old male was treated by Emergency Services on scene and then transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital. Police attended the hospital with the male and was advised by EMS after some time that the male was pronounced deceased.

Strathcona County RCMP Currently on Scene of Ongoing Situation – Update #2

Strathcona County, Alta. - Strathcona County RCMP received a report of a stolen vehicle with firearms inside from Edmonton Police Service (EPS) as the vehicle was determined to be travelling in Sherwood Park, Alta. by GPS.

Police located the suspect vehicle but the vehicle fled from police. The suspect vehicle was then located parked on Essex Road in Sherwood Park, Alta. and searched with the assistance of EPS tactical. It was determined the suspects and firearms were not inside the vehicle.

Strathcona County RCMP Currently on Scene of Ongoing Situation

Strathcona County, Atla. – Strathcona County RCMP are currently on scene of an ongoing situation near Essex Road and Amberley Way in Sherwood Park, Alta.

There is a large police presence in the area and residents are asked to avoid the area.

Archbishop Jordan Catholic School has been placed in lock down due to proximity of the investigation.

An update will be provided once more information becomes available.

Strathcona County RCMP Advise Motorists of Poor Road Conditions

Strathcona County, Alta. – The Strathcona County RCMP are warning motorists of high wind gusts and snow on the roadways that are creating poor driving conditions.

Large trucks are asked to particularly avoid 17 Street, south of Baseline in Sherwood Park, Alta. as transport trucks are currently unable to make the slope due to road conditions.

If motorists must travel, please reduce your speed and allow extra time to reach your destination. Please ensure that you have adequate fuel, an emergency kit, and extra winter clothing.

Strathcona County RCMP Property Crime Unit Arrests Male Suspect After Fleeing Police

Strathcona County, Alta. - Strathcona County RCMP Property Crime Unit has arrested a male in relation to several driving offences.

On Nov. 2, 2021 at 5:55 p.m., a member of the Strathcona County Property Crime Unit began investigating a suspicious vehicle at the Esso gas station on Highway 16 near Ardrossan, Alta. The member determined the plate did not match the vehicle description and police attempted to stop the vehicle for a traffic violation.

Strathcona County RCMP Arrest Male for Mischief to Computer Data

Strathcona County, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP’s General Investigation Section (GIS) has made an arrest in a year long data breach investigation.

On Nov. 9, 2020, RCMP received a complaint regarding an alleged data breach from a local business. GIS along with the assistance of the RCMP’s Digital Forensic Services identified a male suspect.

Strathcona County RCMP Investigate Armed Robbery at Local Pharmacy

Sherwood Park, Alta. – Strathcona County RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in an armed robbery that occurred at a local pharmacy.

 

On Nov. 6, 2021 at 9:25 a.m., Strathcona County RCMP responded to an armed robbery at the Shoppers Drug Mart located on Cloverbar Road in Sherwood Park, Alta. Three suspects entered and brandished knives to the pharmacy staff and proceeded to demand pharmaceuticals. The suspects left with an unknown amount of prescription pills and fled in a vehicle. No physical injuries were reported.

 

Strathcona County RCMP on Scene of Pedestrian Collision – Update #1

Sherwood Park, Alta. – On Nov. 3, 2021 at 2:06 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP and Emergency Services responded to a collision involving two pedestrians on Crimson Drive near Carlyle Cres in Sherwood Park, Alta.

Two children have been transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The lone driver of the vehicle did not sustain any physical injuries.

The roadway remains closed for motorists at this time. RCMP collision analyst will be attending to assist in the investigation.
