Strathcona County RCMP on Scene of Incident – Range Road 224 – Update #1

Strathcona County, Alta – Two males have been arrested and taken into custody without incident in relation to this investigation.

Traffic is no longer being re-routed.

No injures have been reported and the investigation will continue.

Strathcona County RCMP on Scene of Incident – Range Road 224

Strathcona County, Alta – Strathcona County RCMP along with the Emergency Response Team are on scene of an active investigation involving a firearm.

The RCMP have set up an area of containment north and south of Range Road 224 near Township Road 523.

There is no risk to the general public given the containment area established by the RCMP.

An update will be provided when available and the public/media are thanked for the cooperation in avoiding the area.

Strathcona County RCMP Seek Assistance to Identify Theft Suspect

Sherwood Park, Alta. – The RCMP are investigating the theft of mail from three apartment complexes and seeking public assistance to identify the male who is believed to be involved.

On Aug. 22, 2020 at approximately 5:15 a.m., the unidentified male entered three apartment complexes on Cloverbar Road in Sherwood Park. Once inside the male pried open the mailboxes and took several pieces of mail.

Strathcona County RCMP - Back to School Safety Tips

Sherwood Park, Alta. – As the new school year starts, the Strathcona County RCMP, along with our enforcement partners will be involved in educating the public on back to school safety. For children this is an exciting time of year and they may forget basic road safety rules as they walk, bicycle or ride the bus to school. Motorists are urged to use caution when driving through residential areas and to adhere to speed limits in school and playground zones.

Strathcona County RCMP Arrest Male for Indecent Exposure

Sherwood Park, Alta. – On Sunday July 26, 2020 at approximately 6:17 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP responded to a report of a male exposing himself while parked at the Davidson Creek Elementary School in Sherwood Park.

Two female youths were walking through the school parking lot when they observed a male inside a vehicle exposing his genitals and masturbating. The youths left the area and immediately called police.

Police located the suspect vehicle travelling on Highway 21 and the male was arrested without incident.

Strathcona County RCMP and RCMP Major Crimes Unit Investigate Sudden Death ***UPDATE***

Strathcona County, Alberta – An autopsy has been completed on an adult male found deceased outside of a residence in Lakeland Village in Sherwood Park.

The autopsy was conducted at the Alberta Medical Examiner's Office on Friday but the cause of death and manner of death are still undetermined, pending toxicology results.

Strathcona County General Investigative Section will be continuing with the investigation.

Strathcona County RCMP Arrest Male After Multiple Calls Received

Sherwood Park, Alta. – On July 21, 2020, at approximately 6:13 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP along with Strathcona County Fire Emergency Services responded to fire at an apartment complex on Cloverbar Road in Sherwood Park. A fire was located inside an apartment but the homeowner was not immediately located.

At approximately 7:25 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP responded to a coffeehouse in Sherwood Park where it is alleged a male was intoxicated and chasing a vehicle. The male was located by police and advised to leave the premises.

Strathcona County RCMP and RCMP Major Crimes Unit Investigate Sudden Death

Strathcona County, Alta. – On July 21, 2020 at approximately 6:00 a.m., Strathcona County RCMP responded to a call of a deceased male located outside of a residence in Lakeland Village in Sherwood Park.

Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Unit and RCMP Major Crimes Unit continue to investigate and the name of the deceased will not be released at this time.

Strathcona County RCMP Investigates Robbery

Strathcona County, Alberta – Strathcona County RCMP are currently investigating an armed robbery that occurred on July 5, 2020 at approximately 2:46 a.m. at a convenience store on Brentwood Blvd.

A male dressed in a skeleton one piece entered the store and produced a knife and demanded cash from the clerk. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken from the cash register. No one was injured during the robbery.

The male suspect was last seen on foot heading southbound towards Wye Road.
