Strathcona County RCMP Investigate Suspicious Item

Strathcona County, Alberta – Strathcona County RCMP are currently investigating a suspicious item located in a ditch along Highway 14. Police have blocked off the eastbound lane of Highway 14 near Range Road 225 and traffic is being re-routed north and south on Range Road 225. The westbound lane of Highway 14 has not been affected.

Explosive Disposal Unit (EDU) has been contacted and will be attending the location to assist.

Updates will be provided once more information is available.

Strathcona County RCMP Investigate Carjacking with Shots fired - UPDATE

Strathcona County, Alberta – Strathcona County RCMP have charged two males in a series of offences that spanned over three jurisdictions. On October 12, 2017 Strathcona County RCMP responded to a complaint of shots fired at a local hotel and short time later a car jacking at a nearby gas station.

Jeremy Kellie BUFFIN, age 30 and Dalton Shay CHECKOSIS, age 24 both of North Battleford, Saskatchewan were located and arrested in Saskatchewan and remain in custody.

Strathcona County RCMP Investigate Break and Enter to Business

Strathcona County, Alberta - On Wednesday July 11, 2018 at 6:42 a.m. Strathcona County RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter at Global Well Servicing located near Range Road 212 and Township Road 562A.

Suspects broke the lock off of the crew trailer and once inside caused damage to the interior and stole various tools.

The suspects then started a rig and drove it into the cab of a pump truck causing several thousand dollars’ worth of damage.

Strathcona County RCMP Investigate Theft of Ring From Jewelry Store

Strathcona County, Alberta – Strathcona County RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in gathering information on the following crime:

On May 2, 2018 at approximately 4:25 p.m. a men’s diamond ring was stolen from People’s Jewellers located in the Sherwood Park Mall. A male was trying on various jewelry inside the store when he grabbed a ring from the clerk and ran off.

The male is described as Caucasian, 5’8, bald/shaved head, tattoos on his hands and last seen wearing black jeans, black hoodie and black and white sneakers.

Strathcona County RCMP Investigate Armed Robbery

Strathcona County, Alberta – Strathcona County RCMP are currently investigating an armed robbery that occurred this morning at approximately 4:14 a.m. at the Country Boyz Tempo on Highway 16, Sherwood Park.

Two males entered the Country Boyz Tempo where one suspect produced what is believed to be a firearm and demanded cash from the clerk. The second suspect attempted to gain entry to the ATM machine but was unsuccessful. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken from the cash register. No one was injured during the robbery.

Strathcona County RCMP Investigate Fatal Collision

Strathcona County, Alberta – On July 1, 2018 at approximately 12:09 a.m. Strathcona County RCMP and Strathcona County Emergency Services responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on Highway 216 in Sherwood Park, Alberta.

The vehicle was travelling west on Highway 16 and lost control while on the Highway 216 southbound ramp.

The 46-year-old male driver of the vehicle was fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

The name of the deceased is not being released.

Strathcona County RCMP Requesting Public's Assistance in Sudden Death

Strathcona County, Alberta - Strathcona County RCMP are requesting the public's assistance regarding the death of 34-year-old Myrah (Murray) Whitstone, a trans woman who was connected to the transgender community in Edmonton. Myrah was located deceased near Range Road 213 north of Highway 16 on March 24th, 2018.

 

The police investigation has identified Myrah's last known whereabouts along 118 Avenue and 83 Street in Edmonton.

 

Strathcona County RCMP Investigate Three Thefts From One Yard

Strathcona County, Alberta – Strathcona County RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in gathering information on the following crime:

Between May 13, 2018 and May 28, 2018 suspects(s) entered a yard on Glamorgan Drive in Sherwood Park on three separate occasions stealing various lawn items such as; gnomes, lights and a metal rooster.

On May 28, 2018 surveillance caught a male taking a metal rooster and light from the complainant’s yard.

Strathcona County Investigate Hit and Run at Shoeless Joe’s

Strathcona County, Alberta – Strathcona County RCMP are asking the public for assistance in identifying a female responsible for a hit and run in the Shoeless Joe’s parking lot on Broadmoor Boulevard in Sherwood Park.

On May 9, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. the complainant observed significant damage to driver’s side of his truck when exiting the restaurant.
