Strathcona County RCMP Investigate Series of Thefts From Motor Vehicles

Strathcona County, Alberta -  Since November 1, 2018 Strathcona County RCMP have received 18 reports of theft from motor vehicle. Several neighbourhoods including Summerwood, Aspen Trails and Mills Haven have seen a large number of these thefts.  

In most cases the vehicle doors were not locked but in a few cases vehicle windows have been smashed to gain access. Some of the items that have been stolen are; tools, laptops, cellphone, wallets, passports and insurance/registration papers.

Strathcona County RCMP on Scene of Collision - Highway 16 **UPDATE**

Strathcona County, Alberta – On Tuesday November 6, 2018 at approximately 8:41 p.m. Strathcona County RCMP and Strathcona County Emergency Services responded to a report of a two vehicle collision on Highway 16 eastbound near Range Road 225.

A semi truck was travelling eastbound on Highway 16 when it was rear-ended by a vehicle.  

The 35-year-old male driver of the vehicle was fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

The name of the deceased is not being released.

Strathcona County RCMP Investigates Home Invasion

Strathcona County, Alberta – On Sunday November 4, 2018 at approximately 10:41 p.m.  Strathcona County RCMP responded to a report of a home invasion at a residence near Ardrossan, east of Sherwood Park.

Three males entered the residence and when confronted by the homeowner the suspects deployed bear spray and fled. The suspects stole a 2006 Gold Jeep Grand Cherokee (Alberta Plate BZX 8539) that was parked in the driveway. The vehicle has not been located.  

The homeowner received minor injuries as a result of the bear spray.

Strathcona County RCMP Seek Public Assistance in Identifying Suspect

Strathcona County, Alberta - Strathcona County RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in gathering information on the following crime:

Sometime between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. on October 22, 2018 a credit card was stolen from a residence in Sherwood Park, Alberta. The credit card was later used by a male at a gas station in Tofield and Mundare.  

Strathcona County RCMP are releasing the gas station surveillance images in an attempt to identify the suspect.

Strathcona County RCMP Seize Stolen Property From Local Residence

Strathcona County, Alberta -  On October 29, 2018 at approximately 6:30 a.m. Strathcona County RCMP responded to a theft from motor vehicle. Suspects stole several items from the complainant’s vehicle.

As a result of the investigation a search warrant was executed at a residence in the Foxboro area of Sherwood Park. During the search several items were located and seized including wallets, credit cards, laptops, keys and garage door openers.

Strathcona County RCMP Investigate Stabbing

Strathcona County, Alberta – On Sunday October 21, 2018 at approximately 11:15 p.m. Strathcona County RCMP responded to a residence near Township Road 522 and Range Road 225 in Sherwood Park for an injured male.

The homeowner called police after an unknown male arrived at the residence requesting assistance. Upon arrival police located a 24-year old male victim suffering from apparent stab wounds. The victim was transported to hospital and remains in stable condition.

Strathcona County RCMP Investigates Robbery

Strathcona County, Alberta - Strathcona County RCMP are requesting the public's assistance in gathering information on the following crime:

On Sunday October 21, 2018 at approximately 7:42 p.m. Strathcona County RCMP responded to a robbery on Oak Street in Sherwood Park, Alberta. An 88-year-old female was walking from her vehicle to her residence when she was approached by a male. The male asked for a ride and when the female declined he grabbed the keys from her hand causing injury to a finger.

Strathcona County RCMP Team Up for Halloween

Strathcona County, Alberta – The Strathcona County RCMP and Strathcona County Enforcement Services are again teaming up with community partners this Halloween to ensure all trick-or-treaters enjoy a safe and fun evening.

Joining the team this year will be the Strathcona County Citizens on Patrol, Strathcona County Transit, Strathcona County Emergency Services and Sherwood Park Crusaders Hockey Club.

Strathcona County RCMP Investigate Residential Break and Enters

Strathcona County, Alberta – On Wednesday October 18, 2018 Strathcona County RCMP responded to three residential break and enters in the Nottingham, Summerwood and Brentwood area of Sherwood Park.  

In all three incidents forced entry was gained by kicking in the front door and once inside the culprit(s) stole T. V’s and jewelry.

Strathcona County RCMP Investigate Alleged Attempted Abduction

Strathcona County, Alberta – On Tuesday October 16, 2018 at approximately 2:11 p.m. Strathcona County RCMP responded to an alleged attempted abduction at Jean Vanier Catholic School in Sherwood Park. 

The 5-year-old girl reports she was approached by an unknown female at lunch recess near the school playground and pulled her towards a vehicle. The young girl ran away and was not injured during the incident.
